The UK labour market has shown much flexibility over the past months and the private sector continues to create jobs. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the UK employment rate has risen to its highest level since May 2009, with 71 percent of 16- to 64-year-olds now in work.
However, Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) thinks that due to uncertainty from the eurozone the UK is likely to experience a “zigzag recovery”, with jobs figures getting worse before they get better again.
